Inarguably one of the greatest talents to play for Christopher Newport in any sport, Shulman set a bevy of records during his tenure with the Captains. He became just the second player in CNU Athletics history outside of track & field to earn four All-American honors during his career. He was a three-time singles All-American and capped his career with a doubles All-American nod with partner Matt King in 2012. A nationally-ranked singles player throughout his career, Shulman was the 2009 USA South Rookie of the Year and a three-time USA South Player of the Year.

The Glen Allen, Va. native holds the program career records for singles and doubles victories, the single season doubles wins mark, while also tying for the single season singles record.  His 86 career wins as an individual tops the list by nearly 20 victories and his 80 career doubles wins is 18 higher than second-ranked Eddie Glidewell. His singles winning percentage ranks eighth all-time despite playing at the No. 1 spot his entire career. One of the most accomplished athletes in program history, Shulman owns three of the top ten spots on the single season wins chart.
