Athletic Event Coverage
Christopher Newport University’s Sports Medicine department will have a licensed athletic trainer available at all home athletic events within the traditional NCAA regular, postseason/playoff, and championship seasons. This includes CNU Football, men's and women's soccer, field hockey, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, indoor/outdoor men's and women's track and field, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, baseball, and softball. A CNU athletic trainer will only travel with NCAA-recognized contact sports for away contests. CNU Sports Medicine does not cover NCAA-recognized club sports. Football will have an EMS crew on standby for emergency transportation and injury care.
