J.R. Barley, D.O.19274
After earning his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Barley completed a family medicine residency locally with Riverside Brentwood Family Medicine in affiliation with Virginia Commonwealth University. He subsequently completed fellowship training in primary care sports medicine at Wake Forest University. Dr. Barley is board certified in both family medicine and primary care sports medicine.

A lifelong athlete, Dr. Barley's experience playing Division I football inspired him to care for athletes as a sports medicine physician. He has served as an assistant team physician for Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University and the University of North Carolina School of Arts, also working with the Winston-Salem Dash, Peninsula Pilots, CNU, William & Mary, Hampton Roads Special Olympics, Newport News City Schools, USA Cycling, CIAA men's and women's basketball and numerous others. His extensive experience in this area has resulted in a high level of familiarity with the health care concerns of the local population.


Passionate about preventative medicine, exercise and a holistic team approach to medical care, Dr. Barley specializes in concussion diagnosis and management, diagnostic ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections and on-field sports coverage.


Originally from western Pennsylvania, Dr. Barley enjoys golf, traveling and cooking. He and his wife Madelyn have two young sons, Colton and Calvin.
 



Scott Kling, M.D.  19275
Dr. Kling earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a residency, followed by advanced training in hip arthroscopy, at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a graduate of The College of William and Mary, where he met his wife. 

Dr. Kling has served as assistant team physician for the Cleveland Browns. Dr. Kling has also worked with athletes who play for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh.
