Symone is entering her first year with Christopher Newport University's Sports Medicine team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. She will be working with the Captains' Women's Basketball, Volleyball, and Cheerleading teams.
A Virginia Beach native, Symone obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance from Virginia State University (VSU) with a minor in Kinesiology. She then received her Master of Science degree in Athletic Training at the University of Virginia (UVA). While at UVA, she gained Division I experience in Women's Field Hockey and Women's Basketball. Before joining the Captains, she worked as the head Athletic Trainer at Colonial Heights High School while also assisting her former college Athletic Trainer at VSU with sports medicine coverage for Men and Women's Tennis, Women's Basketball, and Women's Volleyball.
Symone is currently employed with Pivot Physical Therapy, an Athletico company. She is also a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in Virginia, and is currently working toward her Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist Certification(CSCS).
