Women's Track and Field & Volleyball (2013-17)

  • Two-time All-American and only the third volleyball player in program history to garner first team honors
  • Two-time Conference Player of the Year and the 2015-16 CAC Female Athlete of the Year
  • Four-time National Qualifier as a multi-athlete and all-time record holder in the heptathlon and javelin

Contributing to nine conference championships during her tenure at Christopher Newport, Sutton put together one of the finest multi-sport careers in CNU Athletics history. As a member of the CNU Volleyball team, Sutton was twice named an All-American including becoming just the third player in program history to garner first team All-American plaudits. In 2013, she joined an exclusive list of former Captains to garner Rookie and Player of the Year honors from the conference in the same season and went on to repeat as Conference Player of the Year after a dominant junior season that still ranks among the finest single seasons in program history.

Sutton joined the track and field program as a sophomore and quickly worked her way among the elite overall athletes in program history while competing in the multis. She was a four-time NCAA National Championship Qualifier and finished as high as ninth in the nation in the pentathlon. Sutton set and still holds the record for the heptathlon as well as the mark for the longest javelin heave in program history. She remains in the top ten in five different events.
