RICHMOND, Va. -- Peyton Blanding jumped up the all-time charts in the women's pole vault while leading the Christopher Newport track & field teams to a strong showing at the VCU Final Qualifier on Sunday at Sports Backers Stadium.
Â
During the competition, Blanding eclipsed 3.41 meters in the pole vault, which moved her to second on Christopher Newport's all-time performance list. Her effort fell just short of the program record of 3.66 meters, which was set by Brandy King in 2004. The reigning Coast-to-Coast Conference Champion also moved into the top-five in the South / Southeast Region this year with her work on Sunday.
