NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Putting the perfect punctuation mark on the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Ryan Scott earned a pair of All-American awards after terrific efforts in the 60-hurdles and 200 to cap off a solid weekend by the Christopher Newport track & field teams on Saturday at North Central's Al B. Carius Track.

After qualifying for the finals in a pair of events, Scott put on a show on Saturday. Kicking things off, the junior speedster bolted to a fourth-place finish in the 60-hurdles after clocking in at 8.16. Hours later, he returned to the track to wrap up the day in the 200. He eventually finished sixth in the sprint after crossing the line in 22.11.

With his performance, Scott became the first Captain to earn a pair of All-American honors at a single title meet since 2012 when Richard Roethel won the heptathlon and placed third in the high jump at the indoor championships. Overall, the Glen Allen native is now a three-time All-American after previously earning national accolades in the 100 during the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Along with Scott, Dominique Torres capped off his decorated indoor career with one final appearance in the triple jump on Saturday. A two-time indoor All-American in the event, the senior came in 13th in the discipline with a 13.58-meter leap.

Overall, Christopher Newport wraps up a solid performance at the indoor nationals. In addition to Scott, Grayson Reid also earned All-American honors after placing seventh in the 5000 on Friday. Guided by those efforts, the Captains finished with 10 team points, which tied them for 20th in the final standings.
