ATLANTA, GA - Christopher Newport's volleyball team lost two matches on day two of the Emory Tournament Saturday afternoon.
In the first match of the day, the Captains lost in four games to Puget Sound (WA). CNU lost 30-27, 30-32, 30-24, and 30-26.
Meghan Puckli led the way with 14 kills. Sarah Coffey added 13 kills and 23 digs while Sarah Brown finished with 10 kills. Christie Kirbie finished with 18 digs while Ryann Lowery and Mary Horner added 12 digs each.
Against St. Thomas (MN), the Captains lost 3-2. Game scores were 30-22, 29-31, 24-30, 30-25 and 10-15.
Coffey finished with 11 kills and 20 digs. Brown finished with a team-high 13 kills while Puckli and Ellen Koch contributed 11 kills apiece. Brittany Collins had 50 assists and 22 digs, Kirbie added 16 digs and Horner finished with 15 digs.
Christopher Newport is now 0-4 and returns to action Tuesday as they host Randolph-Macon at 6:30 pm.
