Biography

2009 - Junior Season - Appeared in 116 games contributing 254 digs with a 2.23 per game average…Had 13 digs against Juniata and on three different occasions had 12 digs against Washington and Lee, Randolph-Macon and Salisbury University…Helped contribute 10 assists, with two against Rivier College and Washington and Lee…Also had 6 kills for the season.

2008 - Sophomore Season - Took over the job as the primary libero and had an outstanding season... Collected 506 digs for an average of 3.83 per game which ranked her fifth in the USA South...Had six matches with at least 20 digs, topped by 25 each against West Virginia Wesleyan and Methodist...Also had 24 versus Bridgewater and 22 in the Salisbury match...Also contributed 35 service aces, including four in the Washington & Lee match.

2007 - Freshman Season -
A key reserve for CNU in her first season on a team with lots of experience... Ranked fourth on the squad in digs with 323, including 13 matches in double figures...Her best was 24 against Washington & Lee, but she also had 18 in her first collegiate match, versus Berry, and 16 in a match with Salisbury...Had a total of 24 in CNU's two NCAA matches... Was also number three on the team in service aces, pounding home five each against West Virginia Wesleyan and Meredith...A USA South all-academic team member.

AT R.E. LEE - As a senior she was second team all-Patriot District, team MVP and captain...In her junior year she was named honorable mention all-region after picking up first team all-district honors, as well as being coach Rebecca Waters' MVP and captain... Even earned honorable mention all-district honors as a sophomore... Set school records for most kills and digs in a season and career, as well as match records for kills and aces...Secretary of the National Honor Society and a member of the German Honor Society...She was also a Peer Mediator...Was selected to CNU's President's Leadership Program and the Honors Program.

Mary C. Horner was born March 16, 1989 in Alexandria, Va...The daughter of Colin and Chris Horner has chosen to major in Criminology... She has four brothers; Matthew, 32, James, 29, Colin, 26 and David, 23 and an identical twin sister, Pam, 21, who is playing volleyball at Franklin & Marshall this season.
