BOSTON, Mass. -- After hauling in her second Defensive Player of the Week selection of the season from the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference on Monday, Christopher Newport senior goalkeeper Amy Sidaway joined an elite club of just 11 student-athletes in any sport to earn 10 or more player of the week picks in her career. Sidaway added another milestone with her tenth career Conference Player of the Week selection on Monday afternoon. 

The Shelby Township, Mich. native becomes the first student-athlete since Kelsey Winters of the CNU women's lacrosse team to be named the league's player of the week ten times in her career. Not only does she join the premier group of honored Captains all time, Sidaway adds to her record number of Defensive Player of the Week certificates and becomes the first student-athlete in any sport to reach 10 selections as the league's top defender. She ranks second in women's soccer history behind Christopher Newport legend Riley Cook, who hauled in player of the week plaudits 14 times. 

Sidaway became the all-time leader in games started in goal for Christopher Newport women's soccer when she was announced in the starting lineup against Marymount on Wednesday. With her 66th career start, Sidaway also earned her 38th career shutout, moving into the top-20 all-time in NCAA Division III history. Among active players, she ranks first in Division III in career shutout percentage (.569) and second across all of the NCAA (DI, II, and III). She is also top-five among active players in goalkeeper minutes played and GAA.

During the week, she made one save against the Saints and eliminated multiple chances on crosses to keep Marymount off the board and is now 4-1-3 to start her senior season. She boasts a 0.38 GAA and ranks third nationally in total shutouts with five.

Christopher Newport will return to action on Wednesday, September 30 at Catholic University of America. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
