NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Christopher Newport rookie Caelyn LaFlamme was named the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after helping the Captains finish out a 1-0-1 trip to Atlanta this week.

LaFlamme took six shots during the week and put four of them on target. She scored the game's first goal against Oglethorpe and then added an assist on the third tally late in the game as Christopher Newport added an insurance goal in a 3-1 win over the Stormy Petrels. Against No. 8 Emory, the CNU freshman ripped one shot on frame and helped manage a 1-1 draw against the defending national runner up. 

CNU has leaned on the first-year midfielder more and more as the season has continued and LaFlamme played a season-high 63 minutes at Oglethorpe. She also participated in 49 minutes against the nationally-ranked Eagles while coming off the bench. 

She has helped thwart opposing attacks in the midfield throughout the year. In total this season, LaFlamme is averaging 40 minutes per game with one start. 

Christopher Newport will return to action at home this Wednesday, September 23 as they host Marymount University for a 5:00 p.m. matchup. The Captains are 4-1-2 this season after the unbeaten trip to the Peach State.
