NEWPORT NEWS, Va. --
Seven Captains hauled in All-League accolades as the Christopher Newport cross country teams excelled at the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships, which were held on Saturday at Lee Hall Mansion.

Led by the award-winners, the men placed second in the final team standings after accumulating 47 points. Meanwhile, the women came in third with a score of 72. UC Santa Cruz defended its crowns on both sides after sweeping the league titles for the fourth straight year.

Headlining CNU's decorated contingent, Sarah Dake was a first-team All-Conference performer after finishing seventh in the women's 6k. During the race, she established a new PR with a time of 23:22.85. That vaulted her to 31st on the program's all-time performance list.

Meanwhile, Lena Blagg collected second-team accolades in the 6k after leading the squad's first-year contingent with a 24:16.42 mark. That placed her 16th in the field.

On the men's side, five Captains secured All-League nods. Earning a spot on the first-team squad, Clayton Rankin came in sixth in 26:04.13, while Luke Tompkins followed in seventh with a 26:06.17 effort. Meanwhile, garnering second-team recognition, Andrew Janetsky was ninth (26:08.26), Tom Foti was 11th (26:27.59), and Luke Hawkins was 15th (26:42.48).

Janetsky's clocking also was the fastest by a freshman at the meet, topping the second-best mark by over 30 seconds.

Rounding out the men's top-seven, Johnny Atienza finished 18th (26:52.63), while Taylor Dalton was 23rd (27:14.31).

In addition to the All-League recipients, the women placed four other runners in the top-30. Sarah Bland was 19th with a time of 24:26.10, while Josie Brumfield (24:33.40) and Courtney Mudd (24:35.60) followed in immediate succession. Katherine Streeter also made her championship debut with a 28th-place showing in 25:45.40.

Rounding out the team's top-seven, Didi Dasilva finished in 26:40.75.

Christopher Newport will return to action with the NCAA South Regionals on November 16 in Clinton, Mississippi.
