Hornet Harrier Invitational
WINCHESTER, Va. -- Shannon Woods helped guide the Christopher Newport cross country teams to a solid effort at the Hornet Harrier Invitational as the Captains wrapped up Saturday's action at the Kernstown Battlefield.
Â
During the women's 5k, the Captains accumulated 213 points, which placed them eighth overall. The men came in 14th in the standings after posting a score of 374.
Â
On an individual level, Woods came through with the top finish after crossing in 21:32.9. That placed her 34th overall and shaved over a full minute off her 5k time from the William & Mary Invitational earlier this month.
Â

Magdalena Ralston was 45th in 22:01.8. Meanwhile, in the men's 6k,
Adam Wosahla led Christopher Newport with a time of 20:59.0, which placed him 44th overall.
Â
Rounding out the women's top-five runners,
Mariam Kolbai was 53rd overall (22:15.0) and
Casey Yenyo was 62nd (22:44.4). Just behind Yenyo,

Â
On the men's side,
Tucker Grochowski paced the freshman finishers after crossing the line in 21:39.6, which placed him 80th overall. Just seconds later,
Zach Mackenzie came in 82nd in 21:44.0. Capping off the men's performers,
