FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Christopher Newport's volleyball squad won its eighth and ninth matches in a row by sweeping Methodist and Greensboro Friday afternoon at a USA South Tri-Match.
The Captains defeated Methodist by scores of 30-14, 30-16 and 30-25.
Ellen Koch led the way with 10 kills on 22 attempts with no errors for a .455 hitting percentage. Allie Wolf finished with 10 kills as well.
Ryann Lowery added 16 assists while Brittany Collins contributed 16 assists and six aces.
Mary Horner led CNU with 13 digs.
Against Greensboro, Christopher Newport won by scores of 30-14, 30-19, and 30-16.
Wolfe paced the Captains with 14 kills on 27 attempts with just one error for a .481 hitting percentage. Collins had 31 assists and five aces as Christie Kirby contributed 16 digs.
CNU improves to 10-5 overall and 6-0 in the USA South. The Captains return to action Saturday as they head up Interstate 95 to Rocky Mount, NC for another USA South Tri-Match. Christopher Newport will play Ferrum at 1:30 and Averett at 4 pm.
