RICHMOND, Va. -- Christopher Newport junior golfer
Nick Alexander was named a second team All-State pick by the Virginia Sports Information Directors following play in the 2025-26 season.
Rounding out the 2025-26 campaign, VaSID announced the All-State College Division awards and listed a CNU student-athlete among the honored players for the 13th consecutive year. It marks the first time that Alexander has been recognized as one of the Commonwealth's top male golfers.
This season, Alexander led the Captains with a 73.5 stroke average while participating in all 19 rounds of action. He fired a team-best eight rounds at par or better over the span of eight tournaments and contributed one top five and three top-ten finishes for the Captains. His 73.5 stroke average ranks as the third best performance by a junior in program history.
At the 2026 Savannah Invitational, Alexander fired a season-best four-under 68 and finished the tournament at three-under with a 213 (68-74-72) to tie for ninth on the individual leaderboard. He added a fourth-place effort at The Melee with a one-over 143 (70-73) and a sixth-place showing at the Battle at Bulle Rock with a seven-over 151 (74-77).
