GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Sophomore Jacob Foti (+4) is tied for 11th on the individual leaderboard with a four-over 75 on the first day of the 2025 O'Briant-Jensen Memorial on Monday morning. The Captains (+33) closed out the opening round at The Cardinal by Pete Dye tied for 14th place after shooting a 317 over the first 18 holes. 

Foti, who tied for fourth at The Melee last week, continued his strong play of late with a four-over 75. The second-year player from Arlington, Va. has now played in seven rounds with Fall with all seven featuring scores at 78 or better including five at 75 or better. 

Starting on the first hole on Monday, Foti caught fire early with a par-birdie-birdie start to the day. He birdied the 169-yard par three 2nd and the 302-yard par four 3rd holes. Back-to-back bogeys got him back to Even, but he added another par-par-birdie run on the front with his third hole under par of the day. He torched the short holes as she added another birdie on the 189-yard par three 16th to finish the day at two-under on the four par threes. 

Rookie Patrick O'Rourke led the team in pars with 10 on the day and the newcomer added a birdie four on the 479-yard par five 10th. He finished out an eight-over 79 with a 39 on the front and 40 on the back. O'Rourke is in 48th place after the first 18 holes. 

Fischer Leggitt (+10) is in 65th place with an 81 on day one. He added nine pars for the Captains and a birdie two on the 16th. Jimmy Spallone (+11) matched O'Rourke with 10 pars and finished out an 82 to close out the scoring for Christopher Newport. Finally, Nick Alexander (+11) is tied with Spallone for 78th and had a highlight on the 10th hole with a birdie on the par five. 

Top-ranked Huntingdon (+11) leads the 20-team field and paced Methodist (+18) by seven strokes after the first round. The teams will return to the course on Tuesday to wrap up the 36-hole event. Live scoring is available online and the link can be found at CNUsports.com.
