ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Christopher Newport sailing wrapped up competition at a pair of regattas this weekend, appearing at the Carl Van Duyne MAISA Singlehanded Championships and the Women's ACC's Round 1B. The Captains finished 17th in the latter while David Grace earned an 11th place finish at the Van Duyne.

Rookie Grace Watlington sailed with junior Ellie McFall in the A division boat, scoring 163 points. In B division, rookie Laura Smith steered with junior Grace Keene for the first four races and sophomore Gail Schneider for the final six. The B division group scored 153 points.
