Christopher Newport Track & Field Wraps Up Light Weekend of Action on Saturday at VMI Indoor Classic

Final Results

LEXINGTON, Va. --
Preparing for the upcoming Capital Athletic Conference Championships, three members of the Christopher Newport track & field program got in some work this weekend at the VMI Indoor Classic, which was hosted at the Corps Physical Training Center.

Headlining the small contingent, Carter Giles and Adam Wosahla both took part in a pair of events during the competition. Giles moved to seventh in the league in the 400 after finishing the race in 52.09 on Friday. Later, he came back with a PR in the 200 on Saturday after crossing the line in 24.07. That marked the fastest clocking in his heat.

Meanwhile, Wosahla competed in the 400 and 800 during the weekend. On Friday, he posted a time of 52.33 in the 400, which moved him to ninth in the conference this year. On Saturday, he threw down a time of 1:58.29 in the 800. That clocking won his heat and vaulted him to fifth on the league charts.

Rounding out the competitors, Ian Dors registered a time of 2:01.28 in the 800 on Saturday. That marked the ninth-best time in the conference this year.

Christopher Newport will return to action on February 21 when the squad hosts the first day of the CAC Championships at the Freeman Center.
