Loaded with a decorated veteran contingent, the Captains welcome back five All-Conference performers from last year's historic squad. Fourth-year standouts
Rachael Allshouse and
Courtnie Greene both earned All-American nods for their efforts in 2017, while
Brittan Muir enters her senior campaign as the first Captain in program history to secure All-League honors during each of her first three seasons. In addition to the seniors,
Rachel Cooke is a two-time All-CAC pick, and
Courtney Fiest is the conference's reigning Rookie of the Year.

Along with the All-League honorees,
Jackie Kotoriy ranked second on last year's team with eight goals during an electric freshman season, while
Kennedy Johnson started all 19 games and helped anchor the defensive midfield unit.
Lily Bryngelson,
Bailey Miller, and
Ariana Samuel also earned starting assignments last year.

Bridgewater features an experienced group of veterans as well. The team's midfield unit includes two returning All-Conference performers in Georgia Howard and Tessa Tierson. Laura Gretz also anchored the defense and was a first-team All-ODAC selection for her efforts last year. Additionally, Ali Bishop started 15 games between the pipes and compiled a .718 save percentage and a 2.14 goals-against-average during her time on the field in 2017.

In 16 all-time meetings between the two programs, CNU holds a 14-2 edge in the series. The Captains posted a 3-0 victory last year, including a three-assist showcase by Fiest. Bridgewater won the last meeting in Newport News with a 1-0 triumph during the 2016 season.

Following Friday's tilt, Christopher Newport will return to action on September 7 for a 3 p.m. battle with Vassar at Captains Turf Field.
