NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's volleyball team captured its first win of 2007 on Tuesday by defeating Randolph-Macon 3-1 in the Freeman Center.

The Captains won by scores of 30-16, 28-30, 30-26 and 30-26.

CNU was paced by Liz Bush's 14 kills. Sarah Coffey added 13 kills and 14 digs while Ellen Koch contributed 11 kills. Brittany Collins finished with 44 assists and 16 digs and Christie Kirby had 15 digs.

April Hines paced the Yellow Jackets with 10 kills. Jill Kubichan added 15 digs.

Christopher Newport is now 1-4 on the year while Randolph-Macon drops to 1-1. The Captains return to action Friday as they travel to Lexington, VA to play in the Washington & Lee Tournament. CNU will play Southwestern (TX) at 4 pm and Washington & Lee at 8 pm.
