Volleyball Sweeps Two Matches, Runs Win Streak To 15

GREENSBORO, NC – Christopher Newport's volleyball team won its 14th and 15th consecutive matches Saturday by sweeping Greensboro and Methodist in a USA South Tri-Match.

The Captains began the day with a 3-0 sweep of the Pride. CNU won by scores of 30-19, 30-20, and 30-22.

Liz Bush led the way with 12 kills on 24 attempts with two errors for a .417 hitting percentage. Brittany Collins finished with 26 assists and eight digs. Christie Kirby added 14 digs and Allie Wolfe added 10 digs.

Against Methodist, the Captains won by scores of 30-18, 30-12, and 30-26.

Sarah Hunkele paced Christopher Newport with 11 kills on 24 attempts and one error for a hitting percentage of .417 to go along with 10 digs. Bush contributed 10 kills in the win.

Ryann Lowery added 15 assists and Collins had 14 assists and 10 digs. Wolfe finished with a season-high 19 digs and Kirby finished with 15 digs.

Christopher Newport is now 16-5 overall and 11-0 in the USA South. CNU returns to action Wednesday when they travel to Salisbury with start time set for 7 pm.
