NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's volleyball team swept a pair of matches from Meredith and Peace at a USA South quad match held in the Freeman Center Saturday.
CNU defeated Meredith 3-0 by scores of 30-16, 30-14, and 30-24.
Sarah Hunkele led the way with 11 kills on 21 attempts with just two errors for a .429 hitting percentage. Ellen Koch finished with nine kills and Caitlyn Jansen added seven kills. Christie Kirby finished with 13 digs while Ryann Lowery added 20 assists and Brittany Collins contributed with 16 assists.
The Captains also swept Peace by scores of 30-15, 30-14, and 30-16.
Allie Wolfe finished with 14 kills on 28 attempts and just error for a .464 hitting percentage. She also had 10 digs. Kirby finished with 16 digs while Lowery added 16 more assists. Collins contributed 21 assists and 10 aces in the win.
Christopher Newport improves to 7-5 overall and 3-0 in the USA South. CNU returns to action Tuesday as they host NC Wesleyan with start time set for 6:30 pm.
