FERRUM, VA – Christopher Newport's volleyball team swept a pair of matches, defeating Peace and Meredith in a USA South Tri-Match hosted by Ferrum College Saturday afternoon.
CNU defeated Peace, 3-0, by scores of 30-14, 30-14, and 30-11.
Allie Wolfe led the Captains with 10 kills on 22 attempts and one error for a hitting percentage of .409 to go along with seven digs. Sarah Brown added nine kills and Liz Bush finished with eight kills.
Brittany Collins contributed 27 assists and seven digs while Christie Kirby posted nine digs.
Christopher Newport had 43 kills on 87 attempts with just eight errors for a team hitting percentage of .402.
CNU defeated Meredith, also 3-0, by scores of 30-14, 30-10 and 30-15.
Wolfe paced the Captains with 12 kills on 23 attempts with no errors for a hitting percentage of .522. She also had eight digs and seven aces.
Collins finished with 31 assists.
Christopher Newport finished with 43 kills once again, this time on 86 attempts and only seven errors for a team hitting percentage of .419.
CNU improves to 24-6 overall and 15-0 in USA South play. The Captains return to action Wednesday when they host Shenandoah on Senior Night at 6:30 pm.
