NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Christopher Newport took on Longwood University on the second day of the Mock Dual Invite before lightning shortened the matchup to just singles action.
Kendal Chang picked up the lone victory of the day for CNU when her opponent, Asem Shoybek, retired with an injury in the second set. Chang earned a 6-2 win in the first set before clinching the win by retirement.
Nathalie Lanne won four games in both of her sets while
Emma Carver combined for six game victories in her matchup. In doubles, CNU's
Lindsey Bergelin and
Molly Miller were leading, 5-3, as the weather struck the area, while
Anna Bong and
Emma Carver were locked in a 5-all tie against Farah Asaad and Hima Fernando.
