Julia Pelletier Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors for Christopher Newport Women's Golf

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- On Tuesday afternoon the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its annual At-Large Academic All-District Teams including Christopher Newport senior women's golfer Julia Pelletier. The Captains' senior becomes just the second CNU player all-time to be recognized as an Academic All-District selection by the organization.

Pelletier, a Gatineau, Quebec native, joins Shreya Ganta as the only CNU women's golfers to be selected as Academic All-District picks by the CSC. Ganta earned her first career selection in 2021 and repeated in 2022.

The prestigious honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Women's Golf is included in the highly-competitive "At-Large" category, which includes athletes from field hockey, lacrosse, swimming, golf, tennis, and a variety of other sports. In addition to the senior golfer, CNU also saw four field hockey players -- Kendall Gibson, Courtney Hughlett, Caroline Hughlett, and Lindsey Loar -- as well as one women's lacrosse athlete -- Gabby Saia -- earn Academic All-District recognition in 2026.

Wrapping up her tenure at Christopher Newport with a breakout campaign in her senior season, Pelletier rounded out her career with one of the single best seasons in program history. She shattered her previous personal bests in nearly every statistical category including leading the team with a 78.8 scoring average while participating in all 22 rounds during her final season. That mark ranks as the ninth-best single season in program history while standing as a top-three mark by a senior.

Pelletier finished the ten events played this season with five top-20 efforts, three in the top-ten, and a pair of top-five finishes. She tied for third at the VSGA Women's Intercollegiate and added a fourth-place showing with a career-low 150 (76-74) at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational. She earned first team All-Conference plaudits from the Colonial Women's Golf Conference in its inaugural season and moved up to eighth all-time at CNU with an 82.0 career scoring average.

Off the course, Pelletier was even more impressive, posting a near-perfect 3.97 cumulative GPA while earning a degree in Management. She was also named a WGCA All-American Scholar in 2025.
