Draws Released for 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Doubles Championship; Captains Play at 3:00 PM on Friday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Making the third consecutive appearance by a Christopher Newport tandem in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Doubles Championship, a pair of Captains will take the court in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Friday for the opening round of the 2026 event. Draws were released for the championship on Thursday afternoon with Christopher Newport junior Kylie Schaefer and sophomore Kendal Chang playing in their first match at 3:00 p.m. 

The event is hosted by the Sewanee Tigers at the Champions Tennis Club and admission is free of charge. Live scoring and a live video stream will be available for all the action and links to both can be found at the top of this page as well as on the women's tennis schedule at CNUsports.com. 

Playing in the afternoon, the CNU duo are entering the postseason ranked No. 14 in the nation. The Captains will face a pair from Brandeis University in the 15th-ranked upperclassmen tandem Mandy Reyes and Rebecca Suarez. Reyes and Suarez are 17-4 overall this season including a 14-2 record in dual match. Reyes, a junior from the Philippines, and Suarez, a senior from New York City, we ranked as high as No. 7 in the nation this season. 

The Captains tandem posted a 9-4 overall record in doubles with all 13 matches coming at No. 1 doubles. The pair snagged three straight wins to end the season, including a victory against No. 11 Addison Felts and Natalie Kim from Mary Washington. 

The winning team will advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday, May 23 to face either No. 4 ranked Matia Cristiani/Alessandra Sikharulidze (Babson) or No. 11 Addison Felts/Natalie Kim at 2:00 p.m. 

Schaefer is making her second straight appearance in the NCAA Doubles Championship while Chang becomes just the fourth CNU player to qualify for the event joining her playing partner, Raine Weis, and Tessa Trate
