BOSTON, Mass. -- Christopher Newport University senior goalkeeper Amy Sidaway was named the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Captains to a pair of shutout victories on the road. Sidaway earned her third certificate of the season and 11th player of the week selection of her career. 

Continuing her reign as the most decorated women's soccer goalkeeper in conference history, Sidaway added two more shutouts to her career ledger running her total to 40. With 40 clean sheets, Sidaway is now tied for 17th all-time in NCAA Division III history while adding to her program and conference records with each shutout she posts. 

The Shelby Township, Michigan native recorded five saves in two games this week with one stop at Catholic on Wednesday before making four stops at Roanoke on Saturday. The Captains won both games, 1-0, and improved to 6-1-3 on the season. Sidaway has been in between the pipes for every minute this season, posting a 0.30 goals-against average in 900 minutes of action. 

This week, Sidaway recorded her third straight shutout for the second time this season and extended her season-long shutout streak to 286 minutes, 31 seconds. She has made 32 saves with a .914 save percentage and is on pace to record a career-high in saves during the season. 

On a national level, Sidaway ranks 10th nationally in goals against average, 13th in save percentage, and 23rd in goalie minutes played. Her performance keeping opponents off the board ranks second in Division III this year, just one of the pace set by Callie Giguere from Franciscan. 

Sidaway leads all three NCAA Divisions in career shutout percentage (.588) and ranks third among active players in goalkeeper minutes. Her impressive tenure as the Captains' starting netminder has led to a 0.39 career GAA, which ranks fourth among active Division III goalkeepers and fifth across all three levels of NCAA play. 

The Captains are off for two weeks before returning to action on Saturday, October 17 at Bridgewater College. Kickoff against the Eagles is slated for 4:00 p.m.
