Taylor Davis and Julia Pelletier Named WGCA All-American Scholars For 2024-25

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- For the third time in program history, a pair of Christopher Newport women's golfers have been named a WGCA All-American Scholar following their performance on the course and in the classroom in 2024-25. Junior Julia Pelletier is a two-time selection and was joined by rookie Taylor Davis earning her first career pick.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of women's golfers around the country. To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher, participate through the conclusion of the team's season, and play in 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Pelletier and Davis were two of 1,499 women's collegiate golfers from 403 programs recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) with this prestigious honor in 2024-25. Pelletier joins an elite list that includes just Shreya Ganta and Katie Thomas as multiple-time recipients of the All-American Scholar designation.

In the classroom, Pelletier has recorded a 3.97 cumulative GPA while majoring in Marketing and continues to be a star for CNU women's golf in her third year. On the course, she posted a career-low 82.5 stroke average that included a personal record 77 three times in 2024-25. Pelletier fired a five-over 77 at the Westbrook Village Invitational, the Max and Susan Stith Invitational, and the VSGA Women's Intercollegiate. She notched a top-15 effort at the VSGA where she finished 21-over with a 165 (77-88) while adding another top-20 finish at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational with a 28-over 172 (82-90). Pelletier also added a T-21st effort with her finest 36-hole effort of the year when she recorded a 156 (79-77) for a 12-over par showing at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational.

Just one stroke behind her for the season's average, Davis fired an 83.5 in her first season as a Captain. Davis also recorded a personal best of 77 during her first collegiate performance at the Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational in September. She finished out the tournament with a 23-over 165 (77-88) and tied for 42nd overall. Her best effort came in the Spring at the VSGA Women's Intercollegiate where she finished tied for 11th with an 18-over 162 (78-84) and she also added a 17-over showing at the Westbrook Village Invitational with a 159 (80-79). Davis is majoring in American Studies and carries a near-perfect GPA through her first year as a Captain.
