SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- Making the program's first ever appearance in the Golden State, the fourth-ranked Christopher Newport women's soccer team will take on a pair this weekend after traveling across the country. The Captains (5-0-0) will take on Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference foe UC Santa Cruz Friday before then facing California Lutheran in a neutral site battle on Saturday.

The first challenge will be the Banana Slugs on their home field as the two conference opponents will match up for the first time in program history. Then, CNU will face the Regals for the fourth time, looking to even the all-time series at two games apiece.
The Banana Slugs have started 1-5-1 while Cal Lutheran is currently 5-2-1 after a run of four straight victories.
