Reagan Delp will begin play at the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles National Championship on Friday, marking just the fourth player in program history to appear in the event. Draws were released late Wednesday night with Delp scheduled to take on Washington University's Ally Persky in the first round at 9:00 a.m.
Delp will join an exclusive group of NCAA qualifiers that includes Vicki Nebinger (1982), Amy Lawrence (1992), and
Johanna Ranta-aho (2018 & 2019).
A first team All-Conference selection this season, Delp traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee and will play at The Champions Club Tennis Complex at Rivermont Park. Live video of select courts will be available starting at 9:00 am and can be accessed by

The veteran pairing in the first round will feature Delp, ranked 8th in the Atlantic South region, and Persky, a senior for the Bears ranked No. 5 in the Central region. Persky is a former doubles All-American and a first team All-Conference selection at No. 1 singles this season. She is 34-33 in her career with 16 career victories in No. 1 matchups.Â
Delp comes into the tournament with a 27-19 career record in singles play including seven wins at No. 1. She is a two-time All-Conference pick and opened the season with five wins in her first six Division III matches this season.Â
The Captains' junior has not played since May 8 during the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championship Match. Persky last played in the NCAA Team Championship on March 15 in a 5-1 setback to Southwestern. The winner will advance to face either No. 8 seed Risa Fukushige (Skidmore) or Taylor Garcia (Washington & Lee), also played on Friday. The second match will not be played before 1:00 p.m.Â
UPDATE: Court assignments were released Thursday; Delp and Persky will face off on Court 13.Â
