SALISBURY, Md. -- The Christopher Newport women's tennis team will hit the road for a key conference matchup on Saturday as they take on Salisbury University at 2:00 p.m.

The Captains are 4-2 overall this season with a 2-0 start to Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference action. Salisbury enters the match at 2-1 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Christopher Newport has been strong in all six of their matches this season with veterans
Kara Ferner and
Reagan Delp leading the charge. Ferner is 5-1 in both singles and doubles while Delp, playing No. 1 singles, is 4-2 while also posting a 5-1 mark in doubles with Ferner. Rookie
Karina Crivtonencu has also been exceptional, winning four of her first five career matches in singles while freshman
Tessa Trate also has just one loss in four appearances.
Salisbury will counter with Veronica Cuellar at No. 1, posting a 2-1 mark this season. Sarah Dover and Elizabeth Christine are also 2-1 to start the year for the Sea Gulls.
Following Saturday's conference bout, the Captains will return to action on April 16 at Division I Norfolk State.
