NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Kicking off a week that includes three dates of competition, the Christopher Newport women's basketball team will travel to Roanoke College (8-2) for a 5:00 p.m. tip against the Maroons on Tuesday evening. The Captains will also travel to Southern Virginia (March 4) and Marymount (March 6) for exhibition action this week.
Roanoke rattled off six straight victories before suffering a narrow overtime loss to Lynchburg in their last outing, falling to 8-2 on the season. During the win streak, the Maroons handled common opponent Southern Virginia, 59-36, before the Captains dispatched the Knights by a final score of 86-56.
Live stats will be available for Tuesday night's contest but in adherence with the Roanoke College Athletics Spectator Policy, no fans will be permitted to attend.

Bill Broderick also announced Monday another addition to the schedule for the 2021 season as Christopher Newport will travel to face NCAA Division II opponent Shepherd University on March 11.
