LOUISA, Va. -- The Christopher Newport sailing program showed off it's depth this weekend with a second-place showing at the Jefferson Cup hosted by the University of Virginia at Lake Anna. The Captains scored 39 points and finished as runner-up by just two points as Virginia Tech won the event with 37 points.

David Grace paired with
Emily Learn finished second in back-to-back races before giving up the rudder to
Luke Hayes and
Shelby Svilich for a pair. Grace was back in the boat with
Gail Schneider for races five and six while Hayes and Learn, Grace and Svilich wrapped up the final three races.
