Katie Crofford was named Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Crofford was named MVP of the Worthington Classic as the Captains won all four matches en route to extending its winning streak to 10. Crofford helped lead the Captains on both offense and defense this week, averaging 3.07 kills and digs per set to go with 3.5 points per set, four aces, and four blocks. She totaled 43 kills, 43 digs, and 49.5 points. She double-doubled against league rival York in a 3-1 victory with 14 kills, 15 digs, an assist, an ace, and two blocks (one solo). She followed later in the day with 11 kills, eight digs, two aces, and a block in a 3-0 win over Bethany. She posted nine kills, nine digs, and an ace in a sweep over Catholic and finished the day off with nine kills, 11 digs, a block, and an assist in a 3-1 win versus Marymount to clinch the Worthington Classic Championship.
For the season, she ranks eighth in the CAC in kills per set (2.68), second in service aces per set (0.56), 12th in digs per set (2.38), fifth in points per set (3.4), and 14th in hitting percentage (.218).
The Captains return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Southern Virginia University for a CAC game at 7 pm.
