LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Senior middle blocker Alyssa Dozier became the fourth player in CNU volleyball history to be named first-team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, it was announced Wednesday.

Setter Fielding Croft was named to the third team. She is the fifth CNU freshman to be honored by the AVCA and the first to make one of the three teams.

Dozier had an outstanding senior year with 406 kills (3.69 per set), 507 points (4.61 per set) and 129 total blocks (1.17 per set). She ranked seventh nationally in attack percentage at .402, the third-highest in CNU history, and was the only player in D-III with a percentage that high on at least 800 attempts.

She became the first player in Coast-To-Coast Conference history to be named Player of the Year in three consecutive seasons. She was also named AVCA Region 6 Player of the Year.

Dozier concluded her career among the program's top five in total blocks (first, 490), solo blocks (second, 167), kills (fourth,1,368), attack percentage (fourth, .324) and points (fourth, 1,775.5).

Previous first-team All-Americans from CNU were Briana Sutton (2015), Hannah Miller (2014) and Bailey Jensen (2012).

Croft, who made the All-C2C first team and was named Region 6 Freshman of the Year, had an outstanding rookie year for the Captains. Her 64 assists against Salisbury are a program record for a freshman. Her 1,076 assists rank third on the all-time list for a freshman.

The previous four freshman to be honored by the AVCA were Sammy Carroll (2019), Eliza Fisher (2014), Abby Hogge (2009) and Kara Elder (2009). Croft is the first freshman in program history to be named higher than honorable mention.
