Live Stats // Video Stream

YORK, Pa. --
The 15th-ranked Christopher Newport men's lacrosse team will continue Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Captains battle No. 5 York (Pa.) in a nationally-ranked showdown at Kinsley Field.

Entering the contest, CNU sits at 8-3 on the season, including 1-0 in league action. York is 9-1 overall and 5-0 at home. Saturday's game will mark the Spartans' first CAC battle this year.

For those fans unable to attend the game, York will provide live stats and a video stream of the action at YCPSpartans.com. Direct links to both features can be found at the top of this release and on the CNU schedule page.

After grinding through four games in seven days last week, the Captains earned a well-deserved respite. CNU has been quiet since upending Southern Virginia, 15-10, on March 23. During that contest, Dylan Rice led the offense with four goals, while Tyler Iriondo captured 14 of his 20 faceoff attempts. Scott McAneney also registered 19 saves, which equaled his career-high and matched the third-highest single-game total in program history.

So far this season, Rice ranks third in the CAC with 33 goals, while McAneney leads the conference with a .604 save percentage. His 142 total saves also place him second among league goalies.

Among other conference standouts, Max Wayne boasts a league-best 43 caused turnovers and earned a spot on the USILA National Team of the Week after forcing 14 miscues in his previous three outings. Pheonix Hines also ranks second in the conference with 38 caused turnovers, and Drew Cornell is fourth with 28. All three standouts also sit among the top-10 in the CAC in ground balls.

On the other side of the field, York has ripped off three straight victories after dropping a 10-6 decision to No. 2 RIT on March 15. Last week, the Spartans registered a huge 11-7 win against No. 6 Cabrini on Friday. During that contest, Billy Sasso won 18 of 21 faceoffs while corralling eight ground balls. With that performance, the senior joined Wayne on the USILA National Team of the Week.

Overall this season, Sasso ranks second in the CAC with 110 faceoff victories while boasting a .618 winning percentage. Meanwhile, Thomas Pfeiffer is seventh in the league with 17 assists and 11th with 40 total points. On the defensive end, Jack Michael has compiled a .593 save percentage and a 6.95 goals-against-average during his 10 starts between the pipes.

In 10 previous meetings between the two programs, York (Pa.) holds a 9-1 advantage. The Spartans have won five straight meetings, including a 15-11 victory in Newport News last year.
