FROSTBURG, Md. -- The 24th-ranked Christopher Newport volleyball team extended its winning streak to five straight matches as the Captains swept Lebanon Valley, 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-12), before toppling Neumann, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-21), during a pair of non-conference bouts at the Bobcat Arena on Saturday afternoon.

During the two contests,
Abby Oren was sensational. The sophomore lit up the competition with 25 kills while hitting at a .537 clip. Additionally,
Megan O'Hara and
Katie Piper landed 16 kills apiece, while
Lauren Tracy averaged over 10 assists per set after dishing out 62 total helpers during the doubleheader.

On the defensive side,
Josie Lucernoni kept the court clean with 33 digs, including 18 in the nightcap against Neumann. She also remained spotless on serve-receive with a 23-for-23 effort during the day. Meanwhile, Piper also pocketed 18 digs, and
Riley Garrison registered 12 blocks after sending back six attack attempts during both ends of the twin bill.

With the two victories, Christopher Newport improves to 10-3 on the season. The setbacks dropped Lebanon Valley to 7-8 and Neumann to 9-10.

In the opener, the Captains used an efficient attack to storm past Lebanon Valley. Against the Dutchmen, CNU compiled a .342 hitting percentage, which marked the squad's finest effort in over a calendar year. The program last topped that performance on September 23, 2017 after notching a .412 mark during a three-set victory over Roger Williams.

Leading the charge on the offensive side, Oren dropped in 11 kills on just 16 swings. O'Hara also pumped nine kills against Lebanon Valley, while Tracy handed out 23 assists. The freshman setter also deposited three kills on five attempts.

Along with the stars up front,
Tiaralyn McBride lined three aces against the Dutchmen, while Piper and Lucernoni added two apiece. Piper and Lucernoni also combined to go 16-for-16 on serve-receive, while
Allie Plumlee was flawless on her six attempts as well.

Returning to the court after a brief break, the Captains carried the momentum into the nightcap against Neumann. Continuing her showcase along the net, Oren blistered 14 kills while notching a .440 hitting percentage. Piper also contributed a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs, while Garrison chipped in with six kills to go along with her six rejections.

Balancing out the front row, O'Hara also played a role in three blocks while adding seven kills on the offensive side. Meanwhile, Tracy handed out 39 assists. On the back row, Lucernoni was perfect on 16 reception attempts, and Oren was equally impressive with an 11-for-11 effort on serve-receive. Keeping the Knights on their heels, Tracy, Piper, and Plumlee all launched a pair of aces as well.

Christopher Newport will return home on Tuesday when the squad kicks off a five-match home stand with a 7 p.m. contest against Bridgewater.
