2018 - Junior Season - Stockpiled awards while suffocating the opposition throughout her third season in Newport News … Only Captain to start all 32 matches during the season … Secured first-team All-Conference, second-team All-State, and honorable mention All-Region plaudits for her efforts … Led the CAC and ranked 10th in the NCAA with 134 total blocks … That also marked the fourth-highest single-season total in program history … Tied the single-match school record with 12 blocks at Catholic on October 12 … Also had nine rejections in a pair of league bouts against St. Mary’s (Md.) on October 5 and at Penn St. Harrisburg on October 11 … Honored as the CAC Volleyball Player of the Week on October 8 and October 15 … Had at least two blocks in 26 of her appearances and notched five or more on 15 occasions … Came through with a huge run in the postseason starting with a seven-block showcase in the CAC Championship at Mary Washington on November 3 … Returned with five blocks in both matches during the NCAA Tournament … Earned a spot on the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team for that run, which also included 17 kills and a team-best .353 hitting percentage … Ranked fourth in the Capital with a .272 hitting percentage while averaging 2.06 kills per set during the year … Also finished fifth in the league with 334.5 total points … Registered six double-digit kill efforts, including 11 blasts against Bethany in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on November 9 … Pummeled 17 kills while hitting at a .516 clip at Frostburg State on September 28 … Received a spot on the Juniata / ASICS Invitational All-Tournament Team after notching 21 kills and seven blocks during the squad’s three matches … Had 11 kills, four blocks, and a .435 hitting percentage in the team’s victory over No. 3 Wittenberg during that tournament … Came back with 14 kills and a .435 mark in her next appearance at Virginia Wesleyan on September 19 … Contributed 14 kills to go along with her 12 blocks at Catholic on October 12 … That marked only the second time in program history that a Captain registered a “double-dozen” with at least 12 kills and 12 blocks in a single contest … Had 10 matches in which she posted at least eight kills and a .300 hitting percentage … Also pumped 20 aces during the year, including three in back-to-back matches against St. Mary’s (Md.) and Marymount during a doubleheader on October 5 … Smacked three aces against No. 20 Berry on October 26 as well.

2017 - Sophomore Season - Put together one of the top defensive campaigns in the country during her second year at CNU … Collected second-team All-Conference honors for her efforts … Led the league and ranked 14th nationally with 119 total blocks … Her 119 rejections also placed her eighth on the program’s all-time single-season list … Averaged 1.09 blocks per frame, which ranked second in the CAC and seventh in CNU history … Collected 12 blocks at York (Pa.) on October 27, which tied the single-match program record and established a new standard for a three-set tilt … Also had 11 rejections at No. 3 Southwestern on September 8 … Had at least five blocks in nine of her appearances, including eight stops in the CAC Championship against Mary Washington on November 4 … Continued her solid work in the postseason with three rejections in both matches during the NCAA Tournament … Also clubbed eight kills and hit .400 at No. 7 Emory during the second round of the playoffs … Averaged 1.56 kills per set and finished the year with 170 total blasts … Clocked a season-high 10 kills against Southern Virginia on October 20 … Popped nine kills and hit .350 during a nationally-ranked showdown against No. 19 Eastern on September 16 … Flashed her versatility with a season-high two aces and five digs at Wesley on October 7.

2016 - Freshman Season - Made a seamless transition to college with an exceptional first year with the Captains … Earned second-team All-Conference accolades for her work on the court … Only member of the squad to appear in all 35 matches while earning a team-high 34 starts … Ranked second in the CAC with a .312 hitting percentage, which also stood as the third-highest rate by a freshman in program history … Also ranked sixth in the CAC with a 0.85 blocks-per-set average and fourth with 101 total rejections … Became just the fourth Captain in team history to eclipse 100 blocks as a freshman … Recorded at least five blocks on seven occasions … Posted seven rejections against Averett on September 17 before matching that feat at Marymount on October 19 … Had a season-high three solo blocks and 11 digs during a masterful defensive performance against No. 4 Southwestern on October 15 … Had eight double-digit kill efforts, including a season-high 13 blasts to go along with a .500 hitting percentage against No. 14 Mary Washington on October 14 … Came through with 10 kills in back-to-back matches against St. Norbert on September 24 and William Peace on September 27 … Added 10 more while hitting .348 against Salisbury in the CAC semifinals on November 3 … Earned a spot on the CNU Invitational All-Tournament team after lacing 26 kills while adding 18 blocks during a four-match run from September 16-17 … Made an immediate impact as a server as well … Ranked second on the team with 36 aces … Pumped five against Penn State Harrisburg on October 22 … Also had three against Stevenson on September 2 and unleashed two on seven other occasions … Finished third on the team with 324 total points and averaged 2.72 per set.

At Briar Woods - Excelled as a middle hitter for the Falcons ... Honored as a two-time All-Conference selection ... Also received the Coaches Award for her efforts as a senior ... Helped guide the team to the program's first-ever 5A State Championship as a junior ... Led the Falcons to a Regional title and a pair of District championships as well.

Personal - Riley Elizabeth Garrison is the daughter of Stacey and Michael Garrison ... Has an older sister, Mallory, who also attends Christopher Newport ... A trip to Fiji with her family would be her dream vacation ... "Forrest Gump" is her favorite movie, and "Heaven is for Real" is her favorite book ... Majoring in elementary education at CNU.
