NEWPORT NEWS, VA- Director of Athletics
Kyle McMullin announced today that all athletic events scheduled through the upcoming weekend have been postponed due to the potential impact of Hurricane Florence.

"The safety of our student-athletes and their families is paramount," McMullin said. "Obviously there are a lot of unknowns as to what we will be facing, but our coaches will work hard to re-schedule as many of the events as possible when conditions return to normal."

Christopher Newport University classes will be cancelled for the rest of the week following Tuesday's classes, and students will have until 11 a.m. Wednesday to leave residence halls. The University will be closed through Sunday at 12:00 p.m., and officials will be evaluating the impact of the storm and will determine when the campus is safe for return.
