Complete Box ScoreWALTHAM, Mass. -- The nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss in the 5th Annual Nor'Easter Bowl on Friday afternoon, falling to the No. 31 Brandeis Judges at the Rieger Tennis Courts. CNU falls to 10-4 on the season, while Brandeis improves to 3-5.
Sophomores
McKinney Harwood and
Claire Dockrill captured points for CNU in the mid-day action in singles play. Harwood outlasted her opponent at No. 1 singles, using a 12-point tiebreaker to decide the final set. Facing Brandeis sophomore Haley Cohen, Harwood won the first set, 6-4, before falling in the second, 6-2. The CNU second-year then won the tiebreaker, 12-10.
Dockrill, playing at No. 4 line, continued her strong spring with her team-leading 11th singles win of the season. She downed Brandeis freshman Sophie He in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, improving to 11-5 this season. The Elon, N.C. native improved to 3-0 at No. 4, and 8-0 between the 4th and 5th lines this season.
The Captains fell behind in doubles play, as the Judges swept tandem play to take a 3-0 lead. Cohen paired with Olivia Leavitt to win at No. 1 over Harwood and partner

Alexandra Drye and
Emily Morgan suffered their first Division III loss of the year, falling 8-4 to He and Charlotte Aaron. At No. 3 doubles,
Isabelle Wessel and
Kate Huck battled against Emily Eska and Maya Vasser, but ultimately fell, 8-5.
Brandeis pulled away for the team win, taking the first four singles matches to clinch the match.
CNU will return to action on Saturday morning, taking on the host Wellesley Blue (10-5), ranked No. 34 in the nation. The match has been moved indoors, and will be played at 9:30 am instead of the originally scheduled 11:00 am start time.
