Live StatsNEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Wrapping up the regular season on Saturday, the Christopher Newport men's lacrosse team will battle No. 16 York in a Capital Athletic Conference clash on Senior Day at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Captains Turf Field.
After toppling Southern Virginia on Wednesday, CNU enters the weekend with a 10-4 record, including a 3-3 mark in league play. York comes in at 13-3 with a 5-1 record in conference action. The Spartans have already locked up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CAC Tournament, while the Captains will either be No. 5 or No. 6 depending on Saturday's outcome.
Overall, CNU and York have battled three times with the Spartans holding a pristine 3-0 mark in those tilts. The team picked up a 17-5 victory in Pennsylvania last year.

The Captains are coming off of a 17-4 triumph over Southern Virginia on Wednesday. During the game, 13 different players scored a goal, including hat-tricks by
Brendan Short and
Joe O'Connor.
Nick Kirschke and
Nick Mandros also combined to go 18-for-25 on faceoffs, while
Matt Hayden made a save to earn his 10th victory of the season.
Overall this year,
Brooks Billings leads the team with 29 points, while
Aaron Chrzaszcz has scored a team-high 23 goals.
Adam Abbate,
John Thompson,
Joey Rolando, and
Randy Foster have all found the back of the net at least 13 times apiece as well. Abbate also boasts a team-best 13 assists and has forced 14 turnovers.
Leading the way on faceoffs, Kirschke has won 56 percent of his battles after securing 150 of his 267 attempts. The freshman has also scooped up 57 ground balls.
On the defensive end,
Brenden Dwyer has been a punishing force all year, forcing a team-high 26 turnovers.
Teddy Pekalski also has 24, while
Steven West has 23. Hayden has been the mainstay between the pipes, compiling a .526 save percentage and an 8.31 goals-against-average.
Along with being the regular season finale, Saturday will also serve as Senior Day for the Captains. Prior to the game, the squad will honor its seven senior members. Together, Pekalski, West, Abbate, Chrzaszcz,

Mark Hargrove have helped CNU reach new heights, including the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
York enters Saturday after toppling St. Mary's, 18-11, during a midweek contest. Andrew Gamble posted five goals for the Spartans, while Tyler Hutson had three to go along with two assists. Seth Krolus also scored four times, while Caleb Abney made nine saves to earn the win.
Overall, Gamble has a team-high 57 points and 42 goals, while Hutson has scored 41 times as well. Jake Katchmark has been the top faceoff man, winning 55 percent of his attempts.
On the defensive side, Abney has a .638 save percentage and a 7.18 goals-against-average. He has been helped by a sturdy back line as Josh Kluver has 24 caused turnovers, while Kevin Braun has 18 to go along with 27 ground balls. Garrett Barker has forced 16 miscues as well.
