Christopher Newport, ranked as high as 20th in the nation after finishing the regular season with a 21-4 overall mark, is looking to pick up a win in their first CAC Tournament appearance after earning a first round bye. Since returning to the starting lineup in the last three games, Green has elevated her game even further, averaging 15.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest, including a career-high 21 points versus St. Mary's (Md.). Mitchell is also the Captains top three-point shooter this season, hitting 39% of her shots from beyond the arc.

Defensively, the Captains feature one of the nation's top squads, ranking sixth in steals per game as a team. CNU gets 14.5 takeaways a game and are averaging 27.7 points per game off of turnovers. CNU also is effective holding onto the basketball, led by senior Andrea Hobbs. Hobbs ranks 20th nationally in assist/turnover ratio, and second in the CAC.
