Women's Basketball Game Notes vs. WesleyDOVER, Del. -- The Christopher Newport women's basketball team will look to run its win streak to six on Sunday as they travel to Wesley College for a 4:00 pm tip on Sunday. The Captains (6-2, 2-0) will face off against the Wolverines (5-3, 2-1) in Capital Athletic Conference action with live stats available at CNUsports.com.
The road game is the second in a three-game conference set away from the Freeman Center and comes after CNU toppled Frostburg State last Saturday, 85-49. Following the trip to Delaware, the Captains will also travel to Salisbury University on Wednesday, December 17, rounding out pre-holiday schedule.
Sunday's contest features a pair of the most dynamic front-court players in the league as CNU senior
Camry Green and Wesley sophomore Brionna Johnson come in as the league's leading rebounders. Both are averaging a double-double through the first third of the season and are among the nation's leaders in double-doubles. Johnson is also the league's second-leading scorer, pouring in 18.9 points per game.
Green is one of four players averaging double figures for the Captains, leading the way with 13.4 points per game. Rookies

Jordan Miller are all adding over 10 points per game through the first eight games of the season. Miller, coming off back-to-back career-high performances of 17 points apiece, was named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for her efforts, especially from beyond the arc. The third-year guard knocked down eight three-pointers in the last two games, including a career-high five against Frostburg State.
As a team, the Captains rank 16th nationally in scoring offense, averaging 79.1 points per game, while also ranking 18th in rebounding margin at +10.3. The Wolverines are averaging 44.0 rebounds per game and will press the Captains on the boards.
Wesley is a young team featuring just one senior in 2014-15, and Johnson, a sophomore, is the go-to player for head coach James Wearden. Junior Tiara White and rookie Alexus Stroud are also averaging double figures this season, while the lone senior, Roniece Williams, is pouring in 9.9 points per game.
