An 11-1 run got the Monarchs back within five points with 7:43 remaining on a pair of free-throws by Christina Schrader. Perry scored six of the next eight CNU points, though, to rebuild the lead to ten with just 2:02 remaining.
The Captains held on for the nine-point victory, as Perry finished the second half with 13 points. She ended the game with 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting, with seven rebounds and a pair of assists. Bowser added 12 points, while

The Captains will return to action this Tuesday, January 31 as the front-end of a doubleheader with the men's team. CNU takes on N.C. Wesleyan at 5:30 pm. The game is part of the 26th annual celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
