NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The CNU women's soccer team (1-3) will play the front end of a doubleheader Friday night, as both the men's and women's teams will face off against Marietta College. The CNU women will face the Marietta women at 5 pm on Friday night, before the men's teams face off immediately following. Then, on Sunday, the Captains women's team travels to Roanoke College for a road contest.

The Captains have started the season at 1-3, with a win over Montclair State. CNU faced the #1 team in the nation, Messiah, to open the season and hosted a pair of games last weekend, suffering losses to Cal Lutheran and Frostburg State. The Captains look to bounce back against Marietta, who they defeated 1-0 last season.

Marietta has opened the season 2-3, and is riding a two-game winning streak heading into Friday's matchup. The Pioneers dropped Defiance, 3-2, on the road and then toppled Bethany, 1-0, at home.
