DANVILLE, VA - Superior depth proved decisive Friday as the Christopher Newport women's tennis team defeated Averett 6-3 and improved to 14-1, 5-1 in USA South Athletic Conference play.
Averett fielded only five players, giving the Captains default victories at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles. CNU started an all-freshman singles lineup on the trip west, with sophomore
Lauren Kelly playing part in a No. 2 doubles victory.

Erin Spinks won in singles on the court and in doubles with Kelly.

Dani Cribb, countering Averett's strong top two. Finns Emilia Vuorela and Johanna Heikkinen combined for three Cougar victories.
