Softball Takes Two From Mary Washington, 10-0, 10-2

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The CNU softball team swept a doubleheader at Mary Washington Tuesday winning the first game 10-0 and the second 10-2.

In the opener, the Captains scored once in the second and then five times in the third to take a commanding lead. Megan Morris hit a three-run homer to highlight the big third inning, her third homer of the season.

Ashley Mani went 3-5 with twoi RBIs, Morris was 2-3 with a total of four RBIs and Mary Kennedy was 3-4 as CNU pounded out 14 hits.

Kristen Rowe went six innings, allowing just four hits and striking out 10 in improving her record to 10-2.

In game two the Captains scored six times, all with two out, to break open a close, 4-2 contest and collect their 22nd win of the season compared to just six losses. The big hit was a bases loaded double for three RBIs by Renee Ashworth. Kristen Nickloy and Jen Falin also had RBIs in the inning.

Jessie Atkinson went 2-3 and Nickloy was 2-4.

Elizabeth Holte got the victory. She is now 9-3.
 
CNU hosts Mary Baldwin in a 2:30 doubleheader Wednesday at Captains Park.
