2010 - JUNIOR SEASON - Continued her career success at CNU, leading the Captains farther than they have ever gone before in the NCAA Tournament...Led team in batting average (.358), home runs (8), runs batted in (44) and slugging percentage (.603), as CNU reached the College World Series Final Four...Started all 52 games as CNU won a record 42 in 2010...Named to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region Third Team...Earned Second Team All-State (VaSID) honors...She was also selected Second Team All-USA South at third base...Became the Captains All-Time leader in home runs, with 26 big fly's in just three seasons with CNU...Also ranks seventh all-time in RBI with 110...
2009 - SOPHOMORE SEASON - Had a huge sophomore year culminating in being named All-American, the first sophomore ever to do so at CNU...Also first team all-region at third base, first team all-Virginia Division II-III and first team all-USA South...The all-state Player of the Year...Set a school record by smashing 14 home runs, including two against Rowan and King’s...Had a total of six RBIs in the King’s game, with three hits, and also had three in both games of a doubleheader with Ferrum...Collected three RBIs versus Rowan Greensboro and Shenandoah and four against Ferrum...A member of the USA South all-academic team.
2008 - FRESHMAN SEASON - Saw lots of action at third base and as a pinch hitter...Had two-hit games eight times during the season... Drove in six runs in a game with Meredith, including a home run...Also had three RBIs versus Mary Washington with a home run as well...In addition, she homered against Hunter and Methodist.
AT HANOVER - Earned second team all-state honors as a senior playing for coach Chris Pace...She was also first team all-metro, all-region and all-Capital District...As a junior she was second team all-district...Her team won the state championship in her junior season and the regional title the following year...She was a member of the all-academic team all four years, as well as the National Honor Society and Beta.
PERSONAL - Jessie Meredith Atkinson was born Jan. 10, 1989 in Mechanicsville, Va...Daughter of David and Lisa Atkinson...Has two brothers, Wesley (26) and Chad (22)...Majoring in Biology.
