NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Junior
Chelsie Schweers has added to her All-America haul by being named first team by d3hoops.com.
Schweers, who already had been named first team by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, has earned at least honorable mention in each of her first three seasons with the Captains.
She finished her junior year with a 24.5 scoring average and as one of the top three-point shooters in the nation. Final Division III statistics should be released tomorrow.
She also has a career total of 1,999 points, and sits just 74 points behind Karen Barefoot as CNU's all-time leading scorer.
She helped lead the Captains to a 30-1 record, including a school-record 30-game winning streak.
