FOREST GROVE, OR – Christopher Newport's volleyball squad dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 7 Puget Sound before rebounding to knock off No. 14 Pacific Lutheran, 3-1, on day one of the Boxer Kickoff Invitational Saturday.

The Captains lost to Puget Sound by scores of 25-21, 25-19, and 25-19.

Allie Wolfe led CNU with nine kills and nine digs. Ryann Lowery finished with 24 assists and Ellen Koch finished with 11 digs.

Christopher Newport bounced back to defeat 14^th-ranked Pacific Lutheran by scores of 15-25, 25-22, 25-22, and 25-20.

Wolfe paced the Captains with 14 kills and 13 digs. Lowery added 37 assists and nine digs while Christie Kirby contributed 15 digs.

CNU is 1-1 and returns to action Sunday for day two of the Boxer Kickoff Invitational.
